September 19 - The Church and its Mission

During this class, students identified the roles of the Church as taken from Acts of the Apostles and compared it to how the Church, how our parish, how we as individuals are doing in our own actions.

Pope Benedict XVI

Pope Benedict XVI is the 265th and current Pope, by virtue of his office of Bishop of Rome, the head of the Catholic Church and Sovereign of the Vatican City State.

Bishop Cunningham

On April 21, 2009 His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI appointed Bishop Cunningham as the 10th Bishop of the Diocese of Syracuse. He was installed as the Bishop of Syracuse on May 26, 2009 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse.

Father Mesmer

Pastor of St. Helena's Church since 2002. Father Mesmer was also named pastor of Holy Family Church in Vernon as the two parish become linked communities.
