Retreat 2010

Sunday's retreat theme was Fingerprints of God. In Genesis, God 'spoke' all things into creation...all except for humankind. God used the divine hand to create man. We are "hand-made with love". The word for touch in the original Greek text of the Bible used the word "haptomai" which means " to attach oneself to" and in creating man by hand, God's touch permanently attached a life of grace to mankind. Michelangelo portrayed God's touch as giving life to Adam. With God, our lives become filled with joy, peace, love, kindness, goodness, gentleness and self-control. God has attached his life to ours from the moment of creation, leaving the divine and holy, indelible mark of love on our souls through each of our own unique fingerprints. It is up to us now, to leave the fingerprints of God in the world with our own hands as we love and serve the Lord and one another. May the Holy Spirit bless your hands, may they be used with the divine purpose for which they were created. May your hands be the fingerprint of God in the world. Amen

  1. What a beautiful, reflective way to remind us that we are indeed the Fingerprint of God!
